Tougher Orange Run

THE highly-anticipated annual quarter-marathon, organised by Boustead Petroleum Sdn Bhd will be making its fourth appearance come April 12.
BHPetrol managing director Tan Kim Thiam is expecting at least 3,000 Malaysians to take part in this year’s edition of the Orange Run.
“We have extended the race length from 9.8km in the previous years to 11km,” said Tan. “Although it will be much tougher, I’m sure many people will enjoy the challenge.”
Runners will be flagged off at The Curve Mutiara Damansara’s piazza. The quarter-marathon is open to all Malaysians above the age of 13.
This year, BHPetrol has introduced a much convenient method of registration.
On particular dates, registrants can submit their entry forms at selected BHPetrol stations, where they will be handed their tag numbers on the spot.
“After that, all the contestants have to do is present themselves on the day of the competition and they are good to go,” said Tan.Tan also assured members of the public that they can expect plenty of fun for families, as the event will be loaded with food stalls, games and giveaways.
“Participants and their family members will even be treated to free nasi lemak and teh tarik,” said Tan.
Entry forms for The Orange Run ‘09 are now available at BHPetrol stations, at the BHPetrol website, Malay Mail and On The Road magazine.
Though it is free to join, participants are encouraged to enrol early as the race is limited to the first 3,000 entries.
